Happy Valentine's Day

So, I'm not much one for this holiday, but I feel obligated (no.. "bored." That would be more appropriate) to do something in honor for it. So if you're single, happily in a loving relationship, currently seeing three guys and a girl on the side, lusting over that smokin' singer you saw on TV last week, dealing with a messy breakup, or chatting online for, like, two hours every day (so I guess you could say it's getting pretty serious) with that special someone, here it is:
My top five (highly likely to be cheesy) love songs.

Disclaimer: These songs are mostly based on how nice they are to listen to, and not how romantic they necessarily are. Basically, if someone where to serenade you with any of these, it'd be nice.)

This is, and always will be, one of my favorite songs, and will top pretty much any song list I would ever make.
Subtlety is not this songs strong point, but it's nice in a cheesy kind of way.
Not your typical love song, but this way my cousin's first dance at her wedding, so it's kind of got those nice romantic connections for me. Also, seriously... how pleased would you be if someone sang this to you. (NOTE: Home by Michael Buble is about the saddest song I have ever heard and makes me want to cry whenever I listen to it. Seriously.)
This song is just... nice. I don't really even know most of the words, but this man's voice is lovely.
What's a love song list without this super cheesy Sir Elton song? Answer: NOTHING.

Honorable Mention to "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith, for being the absolute creepiest love song (I think? ish?) ever. EVER.

Worst Song to Be Serenaded With: It Ain't Me Babe, various artists (THIS WOULD BE MAD AWKWARD IF SOMEONE SANG THIS TO YOU, I'M JUST SAYING.)

I started this at 1:45am. I ended it at 1:02am. Happy Daylight Savings!

Wow.. two posts in 4 days? What's with that? Weird, I know, but I've hardly used my camera since I moved here and recently I've started playing with it again. Also, I spent 7 hours straight in the library today, and I could use some none research activity. Today (as of about ten minutes ago) I was just playing with the zoom on a bit of a longer exposure. Although this can be kind of iffy, it's kinda cool, especially if you have something with a circular focus. Say.. a mug?

Okay, so it looks kind of goofy with a whole bunch of them, but individually it's kinda trippy.

So for music, I'm kind of torn. I only recently heard (yes, I potentially live in a dark cold place under a rock) the some "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. Um, just about the lamest/most adorable song ever. I'll give it to Mr. Mars... between that and "Billionaire," he's so nice.
On the other hand, I heard a cover of "I'll Follow You Into The Dark," and a Cee-Lo Green song. Both of them just about blew me away. So here we go, let's go with no video today, because links are fun!

Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars (just saw the video.. it's kind of awesome.)
I'll Follow You Into The Dark by Tom Meny
The Other Side by Cee-Lo Green, B.o.B, Bruno Mars (Technically another Bruno song, but I think that Cee-Lo auto trumps anyone.)

There you go. G'night and happy daylight savings!

Happy Harvey Milk Day!

Well, actually, yesterday was officially Harvey Milk Day. But, I didn't get around to finishing this post. My bad. For those of you have seen the movie, you know who I'm talking about. For those of you who haven't, you should, it's a good one. Read more about this new day here.

Picture really not relevant, but that's okay.

Aaaand, starting today, a list of my five favorite songs (in no particular order).
#5. I'll Follow You Into The Dark, by Death Cab For Cutie

It's a little bit sad, but kind of sweet and awesome.
