The Secret to Working Out

I'll be the first to admit it: I'm not a fan of exercising for fun.

I mean, I don't hate it. I won't go out of my way to avoid it, and I've done sports all my life. I even enjoy walking/hiking/kayaking/paddle boarding. You know, easy exercise. The kind that you don't really realize you're doing because you're enjoying it (it probably doesn't hurt that I do this kind of stuff in North Van, which is arguably one of the prettiest outdoor recreation B.C has to offer). My friends are always asking me "Wanna go for a run?" or "Wanna hit the gym this afternoon?" To this I reply, usually with a laugh, "Nope." (subtext: I have more important things to do- like eating, and blogging to the internet. Legit excuses... right?)

Running

I started running again today. I'm horrendously out of shape, and it sucks. BUT, I'll push through it. Maybe. I'm pretty bad at sticking to routines such as exercise.

ANYWAYS, for me, the key component for a good run is a good playlist. Personally, I like mine to be full of Girl Talk, Jay-Z, Kanye West's new CD, and (as I discovered today) 3oh!3's "Don't Trust Me." An embarrassingly bad/catchy song, yes, but awesome to run too.

If you don't have a running playlist, give those artists a try.
If you don't run by choice, that's cool too. They're still worth a look when you need a pump-up song (say, if you're being chased pack of rapid dogs against your own will. Or something like that.)
But most importantly, if you have sweet songs that are good for running, I'd like to hear them, as I need new and exciting things to keep me motivated.
Comment below and let me know (don't be shy!)

Also, I took some pictures for a feature in my sister's friends' blog (which, incidentally, I've mentioned before, and it's much more interesting than mine, you should check it out). Check it out here.

A small preview.
