Alex Reads Twilight

Hahahahahahha. If you haven't seen this yet, spare a few minutes and watch at least the first video. If you like it (and you will), and have a while more to spare (after all, there are 24 chapters), watch them all! I actually laughed out loud at least once in every single video.

The premise of these videos are simple: our vlogger, a 20 year old Brit named Alex,  over the span of just over a year, reads Stephanie Meyer's Twilight, and supplies an abridged version, with hilarious commentary, to the viewers. I realize this is the second Twilight-related video I've posted recently, but I couldn't help myself. It's just too funny not to share.

Real life Twilight

The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer is probably the most loved and the most hated series out there at the moment,  most of this love/hate is aimed towards either Edward or Bella. While I haven't read the books (sadly, I've seen the movies...), I've heard enough about them that I think I have a fairly decent grasp on the situation. Bella is a fragile, helpless girl who is "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" (and apparently, arbitrarily) with Edward, the sparkly (an overused, but surprisingly accurate, description), superman-y, totally unrealistic, vampire. There are about a hundred things wrong with the relationship portrayed in the book/movies, ranging from the stalkerish possessiveness Edward has over Bella to the unrealistic expectations it sets for obsessive readers. This video shows how this little pairing would go down in REAL life. You know, if Bella was anywhere near mentally stable and/or aware of the concept of stalking, and the illegal/serial killer-ish connotations that go along with it. Needless to say, it's a great video.
