82. Memento (view trailer here)
This movie came up in just about all of my courses last year, so I was stoked that I was finally able to see it this year. The trailer kind of cover the basic plot, but you might want to check out the imdb page for better description, because it is a bit of a confusing movie, mostly because it's all told in reverse order. I won't go into much more detail about it, but I will say this: this movie was awesome, and I highly recommend it. Also, the main guy (Guy Pearce) kind of looks like a combination of Ryan Reynolds and Brad Pitt (in his Fight Club role), which is nice.

83. Scott Pilgrim vs The World (view trailer here
I haven't actually read the original comic that this movie was based off of, so I didn't have any preconceptions about it to begin with. That being said, I really liked it. It was quirky, for sure, but I liked that about it. Michael Cera plays his usual awkward self, but the rest of the cast was surprisingly diverse/funny. I also watched it while slightly drunk, which I really think only made it better.

84. How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (view trailer here
This movie is pure, 100%, totally unrealistic, chick flick material. It was also pretty funny. This movie is a bit older, but I saw it for the first time last week. Kate Hudson  is hilarious in it, and Matthew McConaughey keeps his annoying persona to a minimum. Overall, this is just a good movie for one of those nights where you don't want to do anything but curl up with tea and popcorn and watch a good, mindless, funny chick flick.

85. The Lion King (3D) (view trailer here)
There are two things I want to point out: first, I'm not a big fan of 3D movies, especially when movies are re-released in 3D; secondly, there are very few things I love more than The Lion King. It's my favorite Disney movie; it's got an amazing soundtrack, great characters, and a sweet voice cast. That being said, forking over $15 to see it on a huge screen in 3D was totally worth it. No regrets here. The Lion King on the big screen was one of the best things I've experienced in a long time. Seriously, I love this movie.

86. P.S. I Love You (view trailer here)
I was really surprised by this movie. I didn't think there was any way that it could pull off not being horribly cheesy, but it managed to avoid that. I actually really really liked it. In fact, it's probably one of my favorite movies I've seen this year. It was funny, sweet, sad, and didn't get boring, despite being just over 2 hours long. And in case you're wondering- it's not based off of a Nicholas Sparks novel, which is nice.

87. Rent (view trailer here)
I've loved this movie ever since I first saw it when it came out. As far as musicals go, I really like them, but this one is a favorite. Even without the great soundtrack, it actually has a good story and great characters, something that many musical lack. La Vie Boheme is also, without a doubt, one of the best songs to sing along to. Like, ever.

88. Brother Bear (view trailer here)
This movie is your typical disney, charming-animals, feel-good-but-kind-of-sad, there's-a-message-to-be-learned kids' movie. That being said, it's hard to not like it. It's a cute little movie, and Phil Collins does the soundtrack. So basically, it's Tarzan. In the forest, instead of the jungle. Hard to hate a movie like that.

89. American Pie Presents: The Book of Love (view trailer here)
I already wrote a bit about this movie here. Basically, I secretly love the American Pie movies. I think they're actually funny, in a stupid way, and although this one isn't as funny as the original, it was still good for a Friday night movie sesh. Also (see my previous blog post), it has the guy from Little Rascals in it. Anyways, this movie isn't as good as the original American Pie movies, with Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan, but it's still funny. Also, there's a new American Pie movie coming out next year. With the original cast. Yay!

90. The Butterfly Effect (view trailer here)
One would expect that a thriller starring Ashton Kutcher would automatically be shitty. BUT NO. The Butterfly Effect has been one of my favorite movies, ever, ever since I first saw it, probably 5 or 6 years ago. This movie is seriously awesome. It's scary, it's exciting, it's a little bit confusing (but just the right amount), and interesting as hell. They then proceeded to make not one, but two, sequels to this, none of them relating to each other, neither of which I ever intend on seeing. The Butterfly Effect is an awesome movie on it's own, and I will continue to keep it like that, untainted, thankyouverymuch.

91. Angus, Thongs, And Perfect Snogging (view trailer here)
You know how sometimes you watch a movie, knowing that it's going to be kind of shitty and really cheesy, but you watch it anyways? Yeah, me too. My roommate was watching this movie and I thought "hey! I read these books years ago, why not check out the movie?" I didn't have high expectations, and it was just passable for a lazy-afternoon-avoiding-studying-type movie. Also, all the characters has English accents, and the main guy was cute, which was nice. Although, at least one of the main characters looked like she was about 11, which made it really awkward when they were talking about hooking up with "blokes" and all that

92. Bad Teacher (view trailer here)
I really didn't want to see this movie. When I saw the trailer, it looked dumb. When it was in theatres, I refused to see it. Finally though, my friend made me watch it, and it was actually kind of hilarious. I laughed out load several times. While it isn't by any means a masterpiece, or a classic comedy, but man does it have some funny lines.

93. Star Trek (view trailer here)
I'd never seen a Star Trek movie/episode before, and (I won't lie) I fell asleep for like 20 minutes during the middle bit of this movie. BUT, still... I really liked this movie. It had a good plot, good acting, time travel, good cinemetograohy, and ohmygodKirkissuchababe. Even if you're not a huge fan of sci-fi, I would really recommend this movie. It's a good one.

94. Fagbug (view trailer here)
This is the first movie that I watched on YouTube (yeah, they have movies! Some for free! It's actually really convenient/works well). This particular documentary, while it had an interesting idea driving it (no pun intended hehe), it fell a little flat. It lacked structure, and didn't seem to have a strong direction. There were some interesting parts, and it touched on a few interesting questions, but I feel like it wasn't all that it could have been.

95. 50/50 (view trailer here)
This movie was fucking awesome. Seriously, the best movie I've seen in a long time. Here are a few reasons why it was so good:
a) The cast. Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are two of my very favorite actors, and Anna Kendrick is great as the awkward new-therapist. Even the smaller cast members, like Adam's mom, dad, and hospital buddies, were great.
b) It was funny, it was sad, it was thoughtful, it wasn't cliche. Cancer movies are easy to turn into mushy, cliched messes, but this one avoided that. Seth Rogen was hilarious, Joseph Gordon-Levit was awesome, and I laughed out loud several times, and had to stifle some more obnoxious movie theater laughs. Also, I'd just like to say, I have never cried in a movie before. This movie? Tears in my eyes, and a lump in my throat.
c) It was filmed in Vancouver. This always gets me. I recognize places from Vancouver and instantly, the film's likability goes up.
Those are just a few reasons. Seriously, I just recommend you see it if you haven't already. It. Is. Awesome.

96. Pathology (view trailer here)
This movie was alright. I thought it was going to be a horror movie, but it ended up being more of a thriller. The plot wasn't super well developed, but the climax was pretty intense. Unfortunately, that didn't happen until the last ten minutes or so of the movie. Overall, this movie had a concept that had potential, but didn't quite reach it. If you like movies like Saw, this is in a similar vein, although a lot less graphic/obviously fucked up.

97. Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides (view trailer here)
The first POTC movie is, most definitely, one of my favorite movies of all time. The  third one was especially shitty, and the second and forth were only semi-shit. While the plots really stopped being good after the first one, I still enjoy the one-liners, pretty people, and amazing locations/attention to detail that go into the films. It was weird without Kiera Knightly or Orlando Bloom, but Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush were good as always, and Penelope Cruz was there. Not necessarily a good addition, but not a bad one. Also, this series has the best theme song ever. It's just... epic. Listen. LISTEN.

98. The Holiday (view trailer here)
Christmas themed chick flicks: they're either secretly awesome, or really awful. I thought this one was going to be kind of stupid, but it was actually an excellent chick flick. As long as you like movies that have the suspiciously-smooth-and-also-highly-unlikely type plots that chick flicks tend to have, you'll probably enjoy this. It features Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Jack Black, and Cameron Diaz, although she was pretty awful in it. Besides her annoying character, botox-y face, and boring acting, this movie was very enjoyable.

99. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (view trailer here)
Yes. I saw the Justin Bieber movie. At this point, I've accepted it: I'm a Bieber fan, save for his first songs (i.e One Time). But I won't get involved in the whole Bieber debate that seems to make up a large portion of the internet just now. This movie was pretty good, in that it showed the rare instant-fame that happened, and personalized him. It was interesting enough, although not as good as it was hyped up to be. Overall, as long as you don't harbor a burning hatred for the Biebs, it's a decent enough watch.
